I Can't Tell What Truth Is Anymore by Andy Partridge

If you are a casual fan of the great British pop/new wave band XTC then you'll certainly want to dig deeper than Dear God and get to the real good stuff and the good stuff can be found on the box set by XTC frontman Andy Partridge entitled Fuzzy Warbles. This tune is one of my favorite of his and I think you will enjoy it as well. Have a listen...c'mon, what do you have to lose eh?

Babe Of The Day *Nina Brosh

Second Best (A Poem)

she taught
me to
never
settle
for second
best

to hang in
there until
perfection
(in my
eyes)
comes my way

little did she
know that
she was the one
I wanted

and like
a
fool
I want
her
to settle
for me

Updates...Photos and Nothing Else.

Enjoyed a swell birthday on the 24th. The wife had made for me a Ween box that totally ruled. Check out the pictures of it. It will store my secret stash of stuff. Also got a Big Lebowski mouse pad and a cake that may have melted but was still tasty as hell. The boys got me a Pixies DVD and a Black Francis CD and XTC’s Mummer album…which is simply fantastic. Thanks to all who made my day a fine one.
Yesterday I alphabetized my entire record collection which will simplify my life considerably. Found a few records that I had forgotten about and was quite pleased with the results…once again, check out the picture of them.

RCA "Sophistication In Stereo"

I found this box set the other day at a Salvation Army type store here in Binghamton, NY and I could not find any info on it online. It is called Sophistication in Stereo and it is chock full of great tunes but as I said…I don’t know anything about it. So, I will ask my visitors here at the blog about it. Anyone know a thing about this set? It is a ten records collection in a great sturdy box and has artists from RCA’s stable of musicians such as:
Ed Ames
Eddy Arnold
Chet Atkins
Arthur Fiedler
Jefferson Airplane
Living Strings
Henry Mancini
Peter Nero
And others.
There are 112 tunes all together and my set is in near perfect condition. Can anyone help me out with this set? Any information would be helpful.
Thanks.
Kevin

Playing Pixies (A Poem)

I want it loud

it's the only
way I can
get off
anymore

the louder
the more aroused I get

this music
this feedback ballad
kills me

I shake it
across the room
a-
lone
and
I like it
that way

not a judge in my
stands

not a finger pointed
in my direction

just me
partially naked
in socks

waving my
majestic arms
filthy with
muscle and
steel

my legs
dance
my feet
flip me off
and out of here

I am weird
at my home

when only the cats
can tell on me
with their stupid
little
meows

loud though
the way
I
need
it
to
be

I do the
swim

I do the
bump

I do the
Manta Ray

t
o
n
i
g
h
t

under the cover
of nighttime
and
music
always music

I let out a razor
crazed screech

as the windows rattle a bit
and the light bulbs
have all
gone soft on me

chicken shit they
are

I want tongue
I want thigh
I want white noise
to come from you filthy
little mouth

now,
at my call
let it all out
just for
me

I promise
I will not let
you
down

did you hear what I said?
did you now?

I'm not a fool..
I know I'm alone
as usual
but for these
speakers
these needles that
shine under the stars

it's all I need

honestly,
I'm telling you the truth

it's all I need

Babe Of The Day * Donna Air

This Metal Opera (A Poem)

this metal opera
of ours
shivers
like a good taste
on my face
and
screams in my
ears
(which happen to be
my all time
favorite
body part)

and so
as you remove your
blouse
and my birthday
has arrived
I take you in
like the music of
a thousand planets

singing simply
for me

and you
with your horned helmet
and robotic brassiere
does something
smooth to me
and I can sing your praises
all fucking night

and now
with glasses
the color of winter flowers
sitting on top of my forehead
I squint insanely
at your nude figure
in the blue walls
of our lovemaking sessions

and flip it over once
to the other side
and sing for me
a new song

and you
captivated by my
mellifluous croaking
(a honey frog)
you call me the style of the year…
you whisper my
hidden nickname
as I penetrate the
walls of your tender mouth
with my crazy soft tongue
singing
as always
singing
to you
to me
to us

and the night
is young
and the fat lady
she ain’t showing up
(my ears
wouldn’t pay her any mind anyhow
that’s why I love them to pieces)

so dear heart
flip it over twice
and we’ll have another run
into the wild flesh
that burns hot
with scented lust
as the tea seeps
inside of mugs
underneath
the New York moonlight
that pours into our song
that only the two of us
know the lyrics to

so one more
amazon kiss…
a bravo jungle with flowers
hitting the ceiling fans
before showering us
with sliced pedals
and laughing
we continue on
and on
like a needle stuck so sweetly
into the groove
of the perfect record
which plays at every speed
with grace and gusto

so say a prayer for that wax
in our collective souls
and don’t let the tune
fade out
to crisp December air
keep it warm
keep it hot
keep it alive
and most of all
keep it
coming

dear,
keep it coming
