"Til The Well Runs Dry by Sister Wynona Carr

This killer track is off the Blues Masters compilation Volume 5 - Jump Blues Classics.  Give this song a shot and I bet you'll see that it is a great number. This Sister sure could rock out. Enjoy this one.

Babe Of The Day * Helena Bonham Carter

You know who I'll be rooting for tonight as the Oscars go down on the old television. This is my good luck picture show of sweet H.B.C. She'll win because she is the best out there. A fine actress and a great babe as well.

Speedo (Part Four) * A Poem

how many times
can I write a poem
about the greatest song
in the world…
the history of man?
The finest character
to be put on record?

I wonder
and I am at it again

my man
Speedo
in
the Cadillac

he’s making time
with the girl
of his dreams

he never takes it slow

and you may call him
Earl
but I don’t

I always refer to him
by his fancy moniker

I wish I could get
closer to him
but
he just moves so
damned fast
and he’s out of my sight
as I extend my hand to
receive a handshake

he wastes no time
and gets the point
right away

but when I get lonely
when I am blue and alone
I just picture him
on the spinning wax
and he comes to me
and dances his
jig with the old
soft shoe
right here in the middle
of my hardwood floor

God bless him

may the light always try to
keep up with him
and shine
brightly

and you know
the best part?
 The best part is that
he will never
grow old

my main man
will never go gray or bald
and
he will never die
so long
as the world keeps spinning and
people have the need for
cool cigarettes
and
corners to
sing on

so, Speedo
keep up your
manic energy
and impress us all
with your espresso soul
and I’ll try to
catch you on the
flip side

dig that man?

The Lonesome Road by Dean Elliott and his Big Band

This great number can be found on the incredible Ultra Lounge series..this one from Volume 3 - Space Capades. Also for a hefty price of 33 bucks you can get it from Elliott's 1962 album Zounds! What Sounds! which I don't have but you can get it from Amazon.        The Ultra Lounge series rules though. I don't have the complete set...yet... but I am working on it. So anyway, enjoy this great number by Mr. Elliott..another master in the Space Age Pop sounds.

Poor Lola by April March

In honor of April March becoming today's Babe of the Day I present you with this tune.   This is a cover of the Serge Gainsbourg song and it is great...so give it a listening won't you? Damn, this chick just is fantastic...as you will see when you click that play button.    This comes off her record Paris in March...which is a must have in any collection.   Enjoy.

Babe Of The Day * April March

Mary-Christ by Sonic Youth

This is from their Goo album which rules heavily on my stereo as of late.  Enjoy this number and the odd fashion photographs I added to enhance your enjoyment of this little three minute masterpiece.        Who rules...? Sonic Youth rules....completely.
Warning...this video contains nudity so please scan me your ID so I know you are well over 18. Thank you.

Babe Of The Day * Hedy Lamarr

A wow babe... an absolutely beautiful woman.

Sitting On A Barbed Wire Fence by Bob Dylan

This track is pulled from the Bootleg Series record Volume 2.  Recorded in the mid sixties but it remained unreleased until 1991. Why on earth it took so long I haven't a clue but regardless, it rules.       I've added some odd photography for the hell of it. It has nothing to do with the lyrics..I just had some free time to add them...so I did.          Enjoy.

Midnight Joy (A Poem)

Eating
Nutter Butter
Cookies at midnight
Is a holy event

Grab a container of vanilla
Ice cream and you are having yourself
One dandy of an
Indoor picnic

Make sure you make a nice
Large pot of
Chock Full O Nuts
Coffee
While you are at it

Fill your bowl
Up heaping
With the good stuff

Play something sweet
Pamper yourself tonight

Perhaps some
Early Paul Simon
Will do the trick

Sit there and teach yourself
How to roll a
Cigarette
While spooning up
The lovely ice cream
And feed yourself
With that smile
On your face

And yes,
Good call with the
Paul Simon choice
Because his tune
Still Crazy After All These Years
Has really hit
The spot
In your soul
Which happens to be bursting
From joy right now

And though
You are getting
Fatter and fatter
With each night you do this
It’s all good
Because you have someone
Who loves you
Unconditionally
And
Fat or thin
You got her
And she got you
And it
Is a good thing

A great thing

And thinking of it
Brings you
Even closer to
Manic happiness

So, though it is only
A Thursday night
And the weekend does
Not look promising
You are
Elated and joyous
With all of your
Goodies
And
There’s not
One thing that can
Bring you down
Tonight

Not a single
Fucking thing

Amen to that

My 25 Favorite Albums Of All Time...Add Yours.

I like lists...I like to compile them and to read them.  For the hell of it I am posting my top 25 favorite record albums and I would very much like to see yours as well. So go ahead and post your top albums.
It was very hard to narrow down the Beatles records to only two. They released 12 albums in the UK along with the Magical Mystery Tour EP and anyone of them could have been on this list.  Same goes with Bob Dylan to a lesser extent.  Not every album by Dylan is a masterpiece but one could argue that every record he released in the 60’s was indeed a masterpiece and I would be in that group but I had to add Oh, Mercy (From 1989)  because it is a damn fine record and it holds some personal connections to me.
The Clash album I picked is a no brainer and I almost added their first record but in the end had to pass it to make room for other albums. Ween, Otis, Xtc and Zappa with the Mothers could all have had another record added to the list as they are deep in my heart favorites but to not include Andre Popp or Serge Gainsbourg would have been a travesty! A travesty I tells ya!
So..go ahead and let me know what you think of my list and be sure to leave a comment including your picks. Thanks!

25 Favorite albums:

Revolver & Rubber Soul by The Beatles
London Calling by The Clash
The Definitive Otis Redding
Blonde on Blonde & Oh Mercy by Bob Dylan
Wasp Star by XTC
Pure Guava by Ween
The Spine by They Might Be Giants
We’re Only In It For The Money –Frank  Zappa and the Mothers of Invention
Trompe Le Monde by The Pixies
Party of One by Nick Lowe
East Side Story by Squeeze
The Complete Stax/Volt Singles – Various Artists
Fuzzy Warbles by Andy Partridge
The Complete Buddy Holly
The Best of Esquivel
The Queen is Dead by The Smiths
Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
Paul’s Boutique by The Beastie Boys
Delirium In Hi-Fi by Andre Popp (AKA: Elsa Popping and her Pixieland Band)
Dirty by Sonic Youth
Space Escapade by Les Baxter
Psonic Psunspot by The Dukes of Stratosphere
Comic Strip by Serge Gainsbourg

The Beautiful People Are Ugly by The Clash

This great tune was taken from the Rat Patrol From Fort Bragg bootleg. If you are a fan of The Clash you're gonna want to hear this tune as it was never off an official album. Hopefully they will release this Combat Rock alternative to the Clash hungry public someday soon. Lord knows I'll snatch it up in a heartbeat. So anyway, enjoy this great number and the slide show I added for the hell of it.

Ween Live - November 5, 1999 (A Poem)

My good friend Rob and I traveled up to Buffalo to see Ween live back in '99 and this is a little poem about it.
