The Disappointed by XTC

A great tune by the master of all things Brit Pop, Andy Partridge. This is off the XTC album Nonsuch. Run out and buy it as it rules.

Well Well Well (A Poem)

Lennon growls
and tears apart
the walls
with six strings
of fingernail
agony

shredded

ripped

my back to
pieces

bloodied
with not
a band aid
in sight

nothing to imagine

cant start over

just blood on
my carpet
under tonight's
full moon

I take off my glasses
slowly
and
call
911

knowing
full well
this is not
the kind
of emergency
they are
trained
for

Grow (A Poem)

play
simple
three
open
chords
real
fast

play
them
over
and
over

again
and
again

sing
words
straight
from
your
head

your
heart

out
of
your
mouth

loud

always
loud

three
simple
D
G
C
chords
and
your
night
is
complete

and
your
song
may
be
about
every
fool
in
front
of
their
television
sets

sitting
stale
watching
Friends

idiots

learn
three
chords

provide
your
own
dumb
entertainment

fingers
on
a
remote
control
is
like
a
ice
cube
dropped
in
the

six
strings
is

your

Happy Birthday Nick Lowe ----62----"Ba Doom"

One more video to celebrate Nick's 62nd year of life.    This wonderful tune is from his Nick The Knife record which I am happy to report I have on vinyl..in fact I have almost all of his stuff on wax which sits proudly in my home here. Anyway...I've also added some cheese cake babes from old magazines that date (I'm guessing) from the 50's....they have nothing to do with Nick Lowe but I knew you folks out there would have a splendid time staring at they ladies.  Happy B-Day Nick!

Happy Birthday Nick Lowe----62----"Let Me Kiss Ya"

In celebration of Nick Lowe's 62 birthday I offer you this tune of his from the Nick The Knife album released in 1982. Enjoy this one as it is a great song and happy happy to Nick.

Horse On The Hill (A Poem)

massive mood
with
new moon virginity
slapping it away
on the beach

ancient scripts
hidden to move forward
with an
spongy eye
and shaking
passionate thighs

the dumb mountain
with its predictable rocks
and snowcaps
are property of four
masters
on horseback
whose names
now
escapes me
(thanks to a thirty
year love affair
of the come hither booze)

smiling with
nipple pierced
freedom
and
green hair
to boot
  shear slices of
painted lips
calls out my
name with
mighty baritone
and a thunderous
appetite
feeding the fire
to more fire

and all the while
Gabrielle
knits down by
the lake of suicide
and I compose lyrics
comprised of
twigs
ash
mercury
and
myrrh
  a love song
straight to the
beating hearts of
the Magi
from
my one eye head
my 12 fingered hand
my pattern of failure

turning fire to steam
in the
once green fields
asking why…
ask why again…
asking away the
afternoon
 the cloudless spine days
when all turns yellow
with fear
..even the green eyed monster
of Shakespeare’s
nursery rhymes

and so
this little piggy
and this rancid pony
collapses
into a heap
before the woman
even had a chance
to swallow
what was read to her
with the sun
shining in her
eyes
and no one
meant for her
to cry
  it was simply an accident
that every
old man
in the universe
could not
have prevented

no one is perfect
she tells herself
as she settles
into
the final knock
of deaths rasping cough
not even the horse
on the hill

nope
not even he

A warning though, it does contain a bit of black and white nudity so if you are a bit of as prude please don't hit that play button.   Enjoy.

Vulture (A Poem)

its out there
circling me
on a
lawnmower

around my home
she
goes and
goes
in
cirlcles

and I know
that
when
that
mowers
motor
is stopped
my
doorbell
(as loud as a fire
alarm)
will ring

and she knows
I am home

and
I know
that
she knows
I am home

my
car is parked
outside
as a clue
of
sorts

she will ring
I will sit
she will ring
again
I will calmy drink my
beer
in the
dark

and she will have
no choice
but to
walk
back
to her
pickup truck

without
the
rent again

and I will
rise...
turn on the
lights
and
just laugh
at how pathetic
my
life
has
become.

hell, its
either
giggle
or hang
the
noose
up

Honky Tonky Cha Cha by Esquivel!

This wonderful cha cha tune by Esquivel is off his 1960 See It In Sound record which you need to have in your collection. If you are a lover of fun music...lounge and exotica then go right out and find it. I believe you can find it at some blogs that cater to music such as this. I know Amazon has it but it is pricey as hell. Regardless it is essential music to own. I hope you enjoy this song.   KpH

Babe Of The Day * Carole Lombard

Hard Crusty Yellow

There’s no time
For this

This meaty clock
That ticks
And
Tocks
Inside the walls of
My brown kitchen

The fleshy sheep
In the oven
Baking like
Lamb cookies
On Easter Sunday
Has risen

I am stimulated
Despite the last hour
Of the night
As I groom my
Eyelashes for
A date I have
With satin and
Duck feathers

I am hard in lipstick
Rigid under nausea stars
That fights each rainbow
To its brutal
And timely
Death

I find myself
Upright
In the mirror now
Not giving
Two shits
About
This
Or
That
Anymore

I take to the bed
Like the lamb took
To the cleaver
And I bleed
Red ooze
On the paisley
Pillowcase
And
Semen stained sheets
Hard
Crusty
And yellow

(Like Popeye
After a vicious fight
With his nemesis
Bluto)

But I am asking for this

I
Want to bleed

I
Want to be cut open

I’m
Positive

While the monkey grinder
Calls it a day
And packs up
His nickels
On the street corner

He hails himself
A cab
And lets his partner
In rancid fur
Ride the
Checkered rooftop

Surfing, if you will

But for me,
There’s no time for this

While I am 87% sure
That
I would go down on it
If only the thighs were
Open like a
24 hour
Butcher shop

I turn a cold shoulder and
Let my tattered back
Face the
Drapes
In the window
As the snow falls harder
With each
Passing millisecond

I peek out
One more time
To check
The percentages

My eyes focus slowly
And I decide
In the last remaining
Second
To shut them quickly
And forget
The whole fucking thing

Four Short Poems

ROUGH SEA'S

turned up

the blade sails in
closer
every second
I dont hear from
you

THE WATER BOWL

the water bowl
on the floor
in my kitchen
reminds me
that
there
was something
not exactly
human
at my apartment
today

she also brought a dog with her

(Figure) EIGHT INCHES

I slipped...
like on ice
into her mouth

she took me in

slowly
with tender
care

I came to
the conclusion
that
she's all
right
with me.

THE SMILE

like a ghost
who can see
its
reflection

In Bed (A Poem)

I take all my secrets
to bed with me
and while I
dream of
deeds long done
I do not twist a bit
nor does guilt
pound like waves in my head
I sleep like a child
with an innocent thumb
placed in my mouth
and I need no
sleepy time elixir
to help into sleep
I fall quite easily
into its velvet grasp
taking  seconds
within the blink of an eye
I am gone
to that wondrous place
and no puddles of conscience
to drown me
I simply ease into it
   a lovely sleep
and let my day end
on a high note

California Dreaming by Enoch Light and The Brass Menagerie

A great number by Enoch Light and his band. I've added some photographs of old actors and actresses back when Hollywood was beautiful...you'll see if you watch the video. So lounge around and have a listen.
