Pork Roll, Egg and Cheese....a Ween cover

This is one horrific cover of the beautiful Ween tune Pork Roll, Egg and Cheese which is originally off their album entitled The Pod which I am excited to report I will be receiving in the mail very soon on vinyl. Ween records on wax...there really isn’t many things better than that…but anyway…here we have yours truly singing and performing the song into my rather cheap but reliable Tascam Recorder.  Before you click and tune in you should know a few things…one…I can’t sing…two...I can’t play guitar and three… I have no idea what I am doing. With that in mind have a listen won’t you?

Babe Of The Day

Kay Francis.

Second Best

she taught
me to
never
settle
for second
best

to hang in
there until
perfection
 (in my
eyes)
comes along

little did she
know that
she was the one
I wanted

and like
a
fool
I want
her
to settle
for me

Babe Of The Day

Bette Davis...again

This Opera Of Ours

this metal opera
of ours
shivers
like a good taste
on my face
and
screams in my
ears
(which happen to be
my all time
favorite
body part)

and so
as you remove your
blouse
and my birthday
has arrived
I take you in
like the music of
a thousand planets

singing simply
for me

and you
with your horned helmet
and robotic brassiere
does something
smooth to me
and I can sing your praises
all fucking night

and now
with glasses
the color of winter flowers
sitting on top of my forehead
I squint insanely
at your nude figure
in the blue walls
of our lovemaking sessions

and flip it over once
to the other side
and sing for me
a new song

and you
captivated by my
mellifluous croaking
(a honey frog)
you call me the style of the year…
you whisper my
hidden nickname
as I penetrate the
walls of your tender mouth
with my crazy soft tongue
singing
as always
singing
to you
to me
to us

and the night
is young
and the fat lady
she ain’t showing up
(my ears
wouldn’t pay her any mind anyhow
that’s why I love them to pieces)

so dear heart
flip it over twice
and we’ll have another run
into the wild flesh
that burns hot
with scented lust
as the tea seeps
inside of mugs
underneath
the New York moonlight
that pours into our song
that only the two of us
know the lyrics to

so one more
amazon kiss…
a bravo jungle with flowers
hitting the ceiling fans
before showering us
with sliced pedals
and laughing
we continue on
and on
like a needle stuck so sweetly
into the groove
of the perfect record
which plays at every speed
with grace and gusto

so say a prayer for that wax
in our collective souls
and don’t let the tune
fade out
to crisp December air
keep it warm
keep it hot
keep it alive
and most of all
keep it
coming

dear,
keep it coming

$9.99...My new book at a super cheap price

In the Ordering Instructions box be sure to mention authors name and the title of the book (Dead Hip by Kevin Heyne).

This will get you a softcover version of the book...and a damned good book it is!

Snow, Smokes and Ale

walking in the snowstorm
3A.M.
on my way to the
local convenience store
for a secret
pack of Camels
and a 18 ounce can of
Blue Ribbon

got the Walkman playing some
tasty tunes
and
it is set to
loud
…very loud…
and
perhaps I am going deaf
at 41
but
I like it
jammed all the way up
shielding me from the
noise from the
snow plows
and
the beating of my
tar infested heart
which is on its way
to giving out
as I take my tender steps
in the 4 inches of
the frosted white stuff

but I make it to the shop
and I blow my fat nose
in the handkerchief
that I brought along with me
at the last second
and I am glad
that I did
as my nose can only
hold so much December snot

in front of the cooler
I pull the Pabst out
and smiling I make my way to the
gentleman behind the register
and he knows me by name now
and asks me
why I am out so late
once again

“It’s a secret...this smoking and drinking”

he nods his head
and charges me a whopping
12 bucks with change

I slide a twenty from my
tin cigarette holder
and hand it to him

he holds it up to the neon light above
making sure it
is not
one of those
counterfeit
Grants
that have been circulating lately
here in my hometown
in upstate NY
and placing it into the drawer
he pulls out my change and wishes me
a nice evening

and so
I hit the snow again
and turning the volume
back up
I make my way up
Vestal Avenue
to my home
where a family of three
(not counting 4 cats)
will hopefully still be sleeping
so I can get nice and toasty in front of the fire
with my music playing softly
as I take mighty pulls from my can of ale
as the clock marches along

it’s a good life,
times like this you know
and pulling my socks off
I hold my feet up
in front of the flames
and I become
warm all over
and the beer hits the spot
right on
as The Beatles album
Rubber Soul
plays on

I feel good and alive
and tomorrow night
will be no different
and the man at the register
will ask me
again
why so late
and I’ll just smile
and give him
my same old line
and
beer and smokes
are really a good thing
to leave the house for
anytime of the day
or night

and the needle
will unleash itself from the groove
on the vinyl
running  into the label
and I’ll have to rise and
flip the record over

and I will do so
with a grin on my face
and beer on my breath
as I fish for the matches to
light a smoke up
out on the back porch
where the moon will find me
alone
and buzzed slightly
where the flame will find the butt
and all will be right with the world
with the clock striking four A.M.
and my now slippered feet
will slowly become cool again
as the snow falls
softly and the glow from the Camel
will keep me company
until I flick it
out
to the hills of snow
and head on inside
to my waiting can of ale
and a fire
I lit for myself

a man needs to pamper himself sometimes
and it can be quite addictive
as this is my third night in a row
and tomorrow will come fast

I’ll be ready for it
with money in my pocket
and a thirst in my heart
for things I am not
allowed to do

but
I do
anyway

Back

ah,
to be here again
with the music humming along
at mach five
and the keyboard
lit up
like a Christmas tree
I find myself
smiling and
working along
at a quick pace

faster than I thought
I’d be capable of

see here now…
I took a few months off
from working the English alphabet,
molding it into something
readable
and pure

fun and somewhat chunky

I confess
this ain’t the best
but damn it all
I’m trying and
more importantly
I
am
having
a ball

so while the singer sings her tune
I am busy doing my thing
as the spinning winter snow
falls outside
and
the family
tucked away
in warm beds
I can be found
with toes tapping
and the
tip! top! tap!
of the keys
echoing off the midnight walls
is music to my ears

so,
I filled up five pages of this stuff
and I am just getting warmed up now
I expect things to
improve mightily
as I go on down this little
poetic road
tonight

each word looks better than the previous
and
when 3 A.M. rolls around
I’ll be golden man…
simply golden

just you wait

just
you wait
and see
