Babe Of The Day

Marilyn Waltz...Miss April 1955.

Be My Wife by Ween

Such a beautiful song and never officially released. It is a White Pepper outtake...Lord only knows why they left it off any album. It's a wonderful and romantic tune. Enjoy the glory that is Ween.

Let Me Kiss Ya by Nick Lowe

From the 1982 album Nick The Knife. Probably my favorite album of his. So go right ahead and click that play button and take a listen. I think you'll find it pleasing to the ears.

Babe Of The Day

Lillian Gish

Hi everyone, I posted a new episode to my podcast, Kevin P. Heynes Podcast. Please click the link below to view it. http://kevinpheyne.podomatic.com/entry/2010-09-29T20_45_01-07_00 See you there! - Kevin

Vibes

and on plays the vibes
so tasty and sweet
for this sore body
I inhabit tonight

some strange gentleman
tickling the ivories
and the drummer
has a head ache

I know this
as he is playing
his tune
so softly

too soft

so much so that
it
is
bugging me slightly

but this stereo long player
(going in tired circles
at thirty three and a third)
will have another
song to play
with a different drummer
and all will be good
in my world again

as I sip from my
mug
on the bottom
is a soggy chamomile bag
that was once
proud and dry
in a flowery box
but now
I have the flavor
all for myself
and that is
simply great

and if I wanted to
I could reach up now
and pick the fruit
from my tree
dreaming that I am God

so,
let the music play on
let the saxophone chime out
into my night
and bring a smile to my face

I love nights like this
and only a hunger
could bring me down now
so
I push all temptations aside
and stare at the vinyl
spinning underneath the sharp needle
as I tap my ten toes
in unison
to the beat
and the phone
will no longer ring
and my pet animals
will remained
curled under my chair
and that is just
fine by me

sometimes
I love my life
and right now
I fucking adore it
to pieces

all is right in my world

finally

as the drummer rises
to make way
for the next fella
and I applaud
with the clapping echoing
throughout my home

raining down upon me
and the next track begins
as I remain seated
in love with
just about
everything
tonight

and that is a
good
thing

Soap, Soup and Salvation by Lone Justice

Lone Justice...one of my favorite bands growing up. This song became stuck in my head the other day and if you saw me you would have heard me whistling this tune. So, go ahead and click the play button and enjoy some good 1980's American rock and roll...you'll love it...scouts honor.

Li Po and I

Li Po
Gives me a
Ceramic mug full
Of wine
And I sip slowly
Hanging on
His every word

He speaks in
Bits and pieces
And it
Is
Downright
Adorable

Li Po
I have to thank you
For your time
I know you
Are a very
Busy man

He asks me
To
Describe the
21 century

I respond that
It is busy
And quite
Ugly

That he
Would not
Care for it

Not one bit

Smiling
He reaches
Out to the
Table in front
Of him
And he lifts
A mug up to his
Lips and
Swallows

He makes a
Satisfied
Face
And
I ask him if
That was
Vinegar
He just
Swallowed

He nods his head
Yes

I ask him
If I could try some
And he hands
The cup
To me

Sipping and swallowing
I make a sour face
And
Li Po
Just laughs

Li Po
Finds this
Extremely
Funny

I don’t

And I let him
Know I am
Not amused

I rise from
The chair
And wish
Him a pleasant
Day

I leave the
Room and
Untie my donkey
From a post and
Get on top
And ride
Off
Under the afternoon
Sun

Li Po
You talk funny
And drink
The oddest of
Things
But
I have to
Say
You are the
Most interesting
Of people
I have ever had
The privilege
To meet

And your wine
Was
Delectable

The vinegar
Not so
Much

I'll stick
To what
I like
And I know
You will do
The same

I Don't Want It by Ween

I Don't Want It by Ween. Taken from their fantastic album quebec. The record is jam packed with some mighty strong songs and if pushed I would say that this track just may be my favorite. I'll add a few more tunes from quebec soon.
Artwork by Edvard Munch.
Enjoy.

Les Baxter - The Trouble With Harry

Got myself a copy of Les Baxter's finest album entitled Space Escapade today and man O man is it great. Here is one of my favorite tracks from it. Enjoy the coolness that is Mr. Baxter.

Babe Of The Day

Paulette Goddard

Moog

I’ve been known to
scour the internet for hours
looking for a certain
album
or style of music
I haven’t heard before

I’ve been on a Lounge Music
hunt as of late
but today I was looking
for a certain precious something
and
after a search of maybe 45 minutes
I landed a find
of three (3! 3! 3!)
classic
out of print
records all recorded
with the
Moog Synthesizer
back in the 60’s
just as the Moog was in it’s
infancy

let me tell you,
you haven’t heard
Eleanor Rigby
until you heard it through
a Moog on a lovely
and scratchy record

I’m done for the day now

now is the time to
sit back and enjoy
the fruits…

28 new songs for me
to play
and play I will
sitting back
with my feet up
upon the desk
with a glass of
cheap red wine
and a hunk of cheese
in my hands
as I smile…
smile along to the glorious music
I went
and found today

The Smile

she has a smile

like a ghost
who can see
its
reflection

finally
